About Me

nice new one 1.jpg

I became a humanist funeral celebrant because I had organised a number of family funerals and felt that putting together a meaningful ceremony really helped me process my own sense of loss. It became clear that a funeral can involve grief and shock, but also laughter and love, and that it can be full of humanity and what it means to be alive.

Through my professional experience and the rigorous training I have received, I have developed the knowledge and organisational skills needed to create and conduct a wide range of  ceremonies. Whether held in a crematorium, a woodland burial site, or — in the case of a memorial linked to a direct cremation — almost anywhere you choose, I am here to ensure the service is thoughtfully planned and personally delivered.

"One of the most beautiful and well-organised funerals I have ever attended. The service brought tears and smiles, but with such a good balance that it felt 'uplifting'."

My background as a BBC journalist, in careers education, and now as a volunteer Samaritan and youth mentor, has given me the privilege of supporting people from all walks of life at some of their most significant moments. These experiences have deepened my empathy and strengthened my ability to truly hear what matters most to each individual and family.

Studying French and German at Durham University nurtured a lifelong love of literature and the arts. I take great pleasure in helping families choose readings and music that capture the spirit and character of someone they love.

In my spare time, I am an enthusiastic, if very amateur, cook, gardener and bridge player, as well as being mother to three grown-up daughters.
